Call for an Alternative Day of Action on Human Rights Day, Saturday, December 10th, 2011

The  success of October 15th has triggered an unprecedented momentum for  global action. Humanity has united across boundaries in a struggle for real democracy and individual rights. Essential to this struggle is the respect for human life and living conditions, including environments

Global civil society is being threatened by a system based on power and not on human values. Day after day it represses basic freedoms and consistently favors the greed of the few over the needs of the many. This power finances wars, food and pharmaceutical monopolies, it sponsors dictatorial regimes across the globe, destroying environments, manipulating and censoring information flow and transparency.

Despite our different cultural backgrounds and social contexts, we all suffer the same threats. Our freedom and dignity are under attack as a result of market dynamics and corrupt government institutions that are turning our local and global societies into increasingly unjust places. The governments of this planet must work for the people, not against them. The time has come to stand up for our rights together and to demand the rights we were promised  in the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, signed and approved by most of the world’s governments and the basis for many of our constitutions.

The struggle for our rights as human beings underlies everything we have demanded in every square and every demonstration in this historic year of global change. There is no better culmination to this year of protest than a global day of action to defend our inalienable human equity from those trying to take it away from us. From East to West, North to South: on the 10th of December we will take to the streets and squares together to demand the fundamental principles that were promised and are inherent to the Human Beings.

We would like to propose the week starting on the 10th of December (10/12 – 17/12) as a time for alternative forms of protest which will be found after a debate between all of us. The idea is to participate in proposing new forms of action with a creative spirit: we can organize public forums, workshops and flash-mobs; we can promote the movement at local schools and neighborhoods or get in contact with humanitarian organizations working with the same goals.

This is a call out to any person, assembly or independent humanitarian organization to participate in this creative process: tell us what you are organizing for #December10, send proposals and vote for the ones you think are good by clicking here: FEEDBACK. We will post them on the site and spread them across the Internet, so that others can join in or debate. A more general discussion is going on here: Come inside and participate!

  1. Moroccan people and youth in particular, came out on Oct. 15 and later on 11 November 2011 in the framework of United for Change .. And we will come out on December 10 .. The people of the world against capitalism

    • Great to hear that Moussab! Thank you for commenting!

    • I forgot to ask, could you help us with a translation in Arabic? We really need to get the message out there! 🙂

      • Great news, Moussab!! With you in Moracco in spirit. ‘See’ you on the street!

  2. this is the 2nd planed protest ive seen today

  3. I do not have many ideas but would like to support the global cause.

  4. Let us change the world!

  5. I will be joining protesters at Liberty Square carrying my “Transcend the Delusion of Free Will” sign. The Global Occupation Revolution of the 99% should champion the truth that human behavior is determined only by nature and nurture, and that free will is a mistaken conclusion at best. Overcoming the illusion of free will would mean creating a blame-free world. As we, the 99%, take ALL of the inordinate power and money from the 1%, we can do this in a way that is also peaceful, loving, joyous, intelligent, compassionate and historic.

Let’s proclaim and disseminate the consensus decision that we human beings are not to be blamed or credited for anything, and let this spreading of the second most fundamental truth of human existence usher in a new evolutionary epoch in human history — as our newly understood causal consciousness becomes one of the cornerstones of the BRILLIANT, unstoppable, new, leaderless, directly democratic, equal, compassionate, and sustainable world we are creating!

Those of us who need help understanding why free will is an illusion, and how as we overcome this illusion we create a world free of the pain of blame, arrogance, envy, and guilt, and full of new-found harmony, cooperation and love, can check out for some of the 38 half hour TV shows I produced and broadcast over this last year to teach the world this truth.

Let’s overcome the illusion of free will, and free ourselves from our irrationally, unnecessarily, and painfully blaming each other and ourselves. Let’s create a brave and sane new world that understands that we humans can only act out the universal will, and let this new understanding of why we do what we do evolve a new saner consciousness for our species!

    • excellent! I have never heard of thsi concept of life but will be following your comments and researching the literature on ” there is no such thing as free will”. It will take some time for me to digets such a philosophical treatise but i will get back to you. Thanks for your contribution! Ther are significant changes in the air and this could be one that needs to be discussed and understood so we can build a better world of understanding and peace. Idealistic/ maybe, but we need hope and I am an optimist .

    • Yah,

nice, I like .. try and free will yourself out of having to go to work each day, or having to wear a tie, something on your finger or face, perhaps free will yourself out of not wanting to die, maybe also free will yourself out of ever having to eat anything.

      free will, please …

great though that human conscience is ever evolving, from our first drawings of our life experience to understanding of the body’s ability to chemically change based on mental observation and process of thought.

There is much more to come my friend…

  6. The KL People’s Assembly at #OccupyDataran in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia have agreed by consensus to support this cause and take part in the Global Day of Action on Human Rights Day.

Our key message for our December 10th action will be to link people’s democratic rights to participate in decision-making to Human Rights… where everyone should have the right to self-governance and the right directly participate in the political decision-making process on laws, policies and matters that affect their lives.

    • Thank you Fahmi! The whole idea for the page is exactly that: assemblies will debate about it, decide what to do and post it here so that others can follow, continue the debate or whatever. Please tell us what you discussed 🙂

Also, please correct me if I am wrong, but in Malaysia you speak a language very similar to Bahasa Indonesia? If not could you help us with a translation?

      Thanks for commenting!

  7. Let’s do this.

  8. i have been hoping for a long time for a movement like this, for too long the wealth of the world have controlled the rights of those less fortunate the time has come. my children will have a future no matter what it may cost me. i will be supporting!

  9. Let’s overcome the illusion of free will to create a sane and equitable world!

  10. this is the link with the page in N-1 where different working group from Acampada Sol Madrid, different organizations and district assemblies are working in order to prepare a week of action from the international day of human rights to the international day of action for migration ( 10th to 18th)
This week of action has been already decided between this different working group and it was proposed in the “virtual” meeting (18th of nov)

In the last meeting it was decided that we are making an international call to ask people from other “squares” to join this call

Please add this call in this page

  11. The basis for corruption in just about every sense is money. Therefore, individuals should commit to limit spending in every way possible during the week of Dec. 10. It is a passive but yet agressive method to reflect just how strong ordinary people can impact the financial world.

    • This a great idea. I would like to add that we could limit or stop our spending at corporations/governmental institutions. Small, locally owned businesses definitely need our support any time of year.

  12. got to go for this one the system is in freefall and we the only ones apply any brakes

  13. I feel we should do something that everyone can participate in, even if they have other obligations that day. Protests are excellent for those who can get away. Perhaps a global black out night as well?

  14. I like the idea of a peaceful protest that’s also combined with teach-ins on these things that I’ve heard of:

    1) a sustainable local and global economies;
    2) universal declaration of human rights
    3) economic bill of rights
    4) a peace economy vs. a war economy

Also, a new value system that is founded on valuing everyone’s human potential and developmental needs for access to clean air, water, food, shelter, education, health care. Once people know these needs can be met and are allowed to thrive according to their human potential, they become more altruistic (Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and Erik Erikson’s 8 Stages of Development), they are freer to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of the communities they live in, in the manner that is most consistent with their talent and skills…We need a value system that values people’s individuality, .rather than the old social paradigm/scarcity mindset of “exploit scarce resources”, “survival of the fittest” and the need to produce ever more superior weapons of mass destruction. Plus, we now have the technology our ancestors (and even our parents’ generation) to communicate instantly and provide information and resources to avert the crises of scarcity, so we no longer need as much dependence on militaristic solutions or a police state. I see the problems of today as a value system that is a holdover from the Ice Age and the survival mechanisms that those in power needed to survive and offer the masses….interesting times.

  15. Hey! The Popular Assembly of Coimbra (Portugal) decided to join this call and spread the message in Portugal.

  16. It is critical for society to move beyond COmmonwealth to “Common Wealth”. We collectively exist in a society controlled by a financial elite to perpetuiate the current system, which includes rampant globalization, consumerization, and subjugation of the middle and lower classes. We need to rally to support a more humane redistribution of services for the common good rather than than current dyfunctional model. I plan to rally in Seattle Washington, a WTO resistance site, to help in driving the voice of humanity and he transition from late capitalism.

  17. Want to fight back against Big Pharma, Big Oil, Big Food?

    1. Reclaim your health. Eat real food. Eat healthy. You will spend less money on processed junk. Beans and rice at Costco are fairly cheap. Take it from this fitness trainer who recently gained weight to better understand his obese clients: “I used to spend about $80 on food a week. I could easily spend $300 now.” Think about it: When’s the last time you saw apples advertised on TV? There’s more profit in apple flavored “health” bars. You’ll also spend less money on medicine.

    2. Reclaim your health. If you’re going to the library, try walking (provided you’re within range). You’ll spend les money on gas. You’ll also spend less money on medicine.

    3. Quit buying those expensive weight loss supplements and just DRINK your green tea instead. And lay off the Prozac and go for the cocoa. It has the same effect. So does cheese. So does a lot of foods. Look it up. You’ll spend less money on medicine and you’ll be healthier, without the nasty side effects that can lead to buying more medicine, and visits to doctors who are paid to push pills on you instead of teaching you to live healthy.

Big Food, Big Pharma and Big Oil are a bad health trifecta. They profit from us because we get too weak and sick to be physical and too apathetic to care. And they are all deep in Big Government’s pockets.

  18. ” Direct and total Democracy…government of The People, by The People, … for…The People…? ” Don’t count on it. The. Pure Democracy you folks seek to impose on the world’s population is no more than Mob Rule, ANARCHY, on a massive scale; and, just like in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, IT will be surreptitiously spirited out of your, THE PEOPLE’S, hands by an deceitful and unscrupulous dictator whom will impose his own brand of DEMOCRACY on the world via YOUR ignorance.

Then your Occupy movement will be booted off the world stage just as the “Heroes of Tahrir Square” were when the Muslim Brotherhood stepped in and yanked control away from them (their pawns) and offered them Sharia or death.

…And what of YOUR movement; will you offer the same choice to those who do not agree with YOU; join or face the consequences? From what I have seen thus far that would seem to be the choice presented to those whom you designate as your enemies.

    Mob Rule at its BEST.

    • While I am not a full blown supporter of this movement, I refuse to call it anarchy. The “Mob Rule” you speak of is indeed the true definition of Democracy (an inherently flawed system). However, it is no more flawed than a representative government that can be sold to the highest bidder. If I have interpreted the general point of this movement correctly, this purchasing of government seems to be one of the main focal points. So rather than take a negative stand against them, why not offer an alternative? I am curious as to how you might consider handling a few issues from here in the U.S.

How can we get away from a hate and fear driven economy?

How can we keep the interests of the people in mind while bribery is not only allowed but encouraged in our government in the form of lobbyists?

How do you stop the infringement of human and civil rights under the pretenses of war and religious belief?

Let me reiterate. I am not a full supporter. Although, I could be once some consensus is reached and goals are established.

  19. What is the “global cause” and who will count our consensus? Who will voice it? Who will appear before the theaters of the world and plead each case? Will we stand around and nod, hand signal, and grunt at one another in unison until we pass out? Who will hear us? Is there a “global ideal”? If so who is the dissension? And will the dissension be heard? By whom? Where? Who will speak for the enemies of the global ideal? Who will speak for the masses? Who will speak for the individuals? Who will speak for me? Who will speak for you? Who will seek to shut the “others” up? Will ALL viewpoints be weighed? Or just the “global” one? Where is this consensus in Sudan? Where is this consensus in Venezuela? Where is this consensus in North Korea? Where is this consensus in North America?

There will be 2 sides, played by the same piper. It is yet to be revealed who he is….

Uprkos našim različitim kulturama i društvenom kontekstu, svi smo izloženi istim pretnjama.
Dođite i učestvujte .

  23. in Finnish / suomi:

Kutsu vaihtoehtoiseen toimintapäivään Ihmisoikeuksien päivänä lauantaina joulukuun 10. päivänä vuonna 2011

Lokakuun 15. päivän menestys on tuottanut ennennäkemättömän sysäyksen globaalille toiminnalle.

Huolimatta erilaisista kulttuurisista taustoistamme ja sosiaalisista konteksteistamme, me kaikki kärsimme samoista uhista.

Taistelu oikeuksiemme puolesta ihmisinä on pohjana kaikelle sille, mitä olemme vaatineet kaikilla aukioilla ja kaikissa mielenosoituksissa tänä historiallisena globaalin muutoksen vuotena.

  24. we should do a national/international day of public repossession or maybe from the 10th to the 17th..i posted it so comment on it and gimma some feedback!

  25. I would love to have a “sign” established to demonstrate support for the Occupy Movement, such as a wristband, specific color or symbol to be worn.
There are many people who would feel part of the solidarity if they could signal to others about their feelings. I support the movement by donations and following the news and internet articles. Getting out and being physically involved is difficult for many of us seniors, but we support and thank all of you younger and very devoted members of this movement. You are our heros!

  26. I can hardly believe that it’s actually going to happen. How do we get the people in rural communities involved? Most of the people I talk to don’t even know it’s going on.

    • The only way to engage in rural communities is actually forming groups and going out there and hold assemblies, workshops etc. We need to be proactive, get out there and give it all we’ve got. The best way is talking about it to everyone you can, acting as a loudspeaker for the values you share with the movement.

    • I live in a small town in PA, where there’s a lot of people suffering from unemployment, problems from inadequate health care access, homelessness, hunger and a variety of other issues.

What we have done here that’s been effective: hold a honk-and-wave in a park where there is some traffic and pedestrians as well. When people stop and ask questions, get them to talk about what challenges they are facing. Then, see what ideas you can come up with together to help them. Many times, the answers to our problems are right in front of us, and our neighbors may hold the key. Listen to them, and see what you can do together to make life better for all of you,

This doesn’t require a lot of people. In fact, I’ve done this sometimes all alone. You’d be surprised what one person can do if they are determined!

  27. How powerful a statement would it be if every protest in every city around the world was done in complete and total silence?

Imagine the impact of thousands of people sitting in complete silence.

  28. Hi every one, this is very good platform to gain GLOBAL JUSTISE ACROSS THE WORLD, PANAFRIKANYEMEI cooperarative socaity for community regene ration.and its sister organisation in abroad.shall support this positive course.

  29. I found myself in agreement with the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th paragraphs on the main page of this link, but I found the photograph of the ‘protesters’ holding a sign reading “Capitalism Doesn’t Work” & “A Job Is A Right” as completely insane and an oxymoron – if not a complete non sequitur to the implied objectives stated on this link.
When you get ‘your story straight’, then, I might take you seriously… until then, you simply give me no choice but to see this movement as just another LA riot – only this time with a lot more misdirected attitude & logic.

PS The photograph was attached to the article I read from World Net The article was titled: New Occupy plot: Flash mobs

    • Moussab, thank you SO much!

  31. Something we used to do in the ’60s was called a die-in. You pick a location that is associated with steam-rolling over people (like big banks or major corporations with bad track records like Monsanto), and lie down on the ground using fake blood and makeup. It’s good if you also have some people play mourners, who can sob and cry loudly to draw attention, and someone dressed as a funeral director, who can hand out leaflets about the meaning of what the passersby are seeing.

You could also add some zombies and ghosts to hand out leaflets and follow people who appear to simply not care.

  32. I love the concept of this site. Lets be carefull. “In polotics nothing ever happens by accident”. Lets make sure it stays peacful. We dont want to give them a reason to suspend what little rights we still have and usher in martial law America. This is the 1% agenda in the US. We have become a disguised police state and we need to proceed with caution Human rights are never gained by stomping humanrights .

  33. Re-build African-American people into equal partners in industry and commerce.
The results would be astronomical; from reduced welfare dependence to nearly zero crime to a much healthier sociality. The known world as of today would transform into a much different world in the near future. Each reduction in social programs, justice dept., and commercial subsidies would equate into billions in reduced taxes.

America must give 40 million people, African-Americans, a right and opportunity to reach every level of the American dream: The highest quality of life in the world.
America must stop “giving” its people fish and bread; start “teaching” them how to fish for their self. In other words; teach black people how to successfully enter into industry and commerce; make opportunities available to them; finance their ideas and then, witness commercial growth unlike any other period in America’s history. The windfall benefit, to every American citizen, would be astronomical.

  34. Brilliant! I’ve been waiting for this since October 15th. Not sure if I can get anything going in Uruguay, but I’ll give it a go.

  35. OK… So here we are… We have the attention of the world, “the whole world is watching”, we all know there needs to be GLOBAL reform, not just national change..So now what?
I guess I should first introduce myself. My name is John.. I am a 40 year old Father/Partner/Son/Grandson and I have been involved with the occupy movement since basically around the first of October when I first saw the mass arrest in New York. Had I not been a 24 hour a day news junkie, I would have probably misses it since the event barely made overnight headlines. However, when I did notice and became involved locally. The one thing that stood out to me more than anything else was one word -“Equality”. That one word encompassed the feelings, frustrations and (not to be too over dramatic) hopelessness I have been feeling on a very personal level for over 20 years… I thought to myself “This is it. This is the movement I have been hoping for all my life.”
Since becoming involved in the movement, I have heard a lot more words.. Bank Bailouts, All about the Fed and fractional reserve banking, and corruption in politics are just a few (but seem to be the most popular) of the. I have always been very aware of these things, I just always wrote all that off to the way society as a whole had become, not the fault of any particular entity. And all of which, on the surface and under our current system, are very bad things. While I guess if we plan on keeping thing like they are and the way they have always been, since practically the earliest days of ancient civilization, we do need to fix it. I, however, am getting bogged down in the notion of fixing a system back to broken and morally bankrupt… Please understand I am not bashing any part of this movement, I think it is a great thing, it is bringing people together, making people talk, and bringing us to the brink of enlightenment. I believe there are many people that believe passionately in what personally brought them out here and I am NOT belittling those beliefs. I guess I am just aspiring for so much more, and I hope it is not too much..
So I return to my original statement, “The whole world is watching” – Should we not use that to unite the world for global change? I for one am, and have always been, bothered by the fact that in this day and age, when we can travel to the moon, we cannot insure that no man woman or child EVER goes hungry, without shelter or without equal medical care. Isn’t it time that we all realized we are all born out of the very universe itself and that borders are outdated and truly naïve, almost egocentric in nature? That this planet and everything born of it belongs to each of us (and all living things biological and ecologically) equally. That everyone’s contribution to society must be equally
All the non violent direct action to get all the different messages out has its merits. But for how long do we gather and then go home? A lot of people have been coming together for almost 3 months now both to occupy and for various calls to action… My final question is how do we get everyone that wants to change the world to gather NOW and not move until we fix the world the way it should be. Not just in your city or state, not just in one nation, but everyone across the world united to demand equality. International Human Rights Day is December 10th… just sayin’
    Peace to everyone…

    • Just read your post of November 24th, mainly because it was under mine! Funny thing is, most of it sounds like I could have written it myself. My thoughts are almost identical to yours on the global thing. So, if we think the same, then so must countless others. Your question is the right one. How can we get everyone together to not just push for a few local political reforms, but to actually change the world to how it should be in the 21st Century? My hope is that this movement will keep heading that way. I think we’ve all realized that the current political parties in various countries aren’t going to give us what we really want. If you ask me, the way to go is to form new ‘Occupy’ parties in different countries, coordinate policies etc., and attempt to use the existing democratic political systems to gain power. It won’t be easy and will meet with a lot of resistance from the establishment, media, central banks, corporations, etc., but I can’t really see another way to get real, lasting change. An impossible dream? Why should it be?

      • from

“… the capitalist cycle: (1) economic boom bursting into crisis, followed by (2) mass movements for social welfare reforms and economic regulations, followed by (3) capitalists using their profits to undo achieved reforms and regulations, followed by (1) again, the next capitalist boom, bust, and crisis. US capitalism since the crash of 1929 displays this 3-step cycle.”

A few reforms won’t change anything even in the short run. Corrupt and self-serving people will weather it out until the protests are over and restart the cycle! This time the change must be much deeper and affect the very base of capitalism and representative democracy. Today the Western World has the technology and resources to finally adopt a direct democracy and a democratic production model, which benefits everyone equally.

We came to believe that paying mortgages for decades is the just price for a house, while our ancestors took a few weeks to build theirs. We came to believe it’s just to work 8 hours per day(if we are lucky) just to pay for our continued existence and live in semi-poverty, while the corrupt enjoy luxuries beyond our imagination and make our existences harder with each day that goes by!
It’s time to discover the true value of work and effort, to realize we don’t have to serve the ever increasing desires of the elite, but only those of the communities around us!

A horizontal democratic system where resources are divided equally and in which we are rewarded for our contribution to the community and not our selfishness!

  36. Seoul, South Korea, is also having a day of action on Dec. 10 as the second Occupy Seoul global day of action.
Occupy Seoul began on October 15 and will continue to organize actions in solidarity with the 99% of the world.

  37. So beautiful. It is agape, unconditional self love, that will create a world of love, a populace of lovers!! We are hosting a “Love Quest” for seven days, beginning on December 10th, 2011. Here is the link, it happens in your inbox, join us!

    In Lak’ech.

  38. I will be joining my fellow freedom fighters at Occupy Boston…we will be the change we want to see in the world…much love and light to everyone, everywhere…may we make such a tremendous statement that they can no longer deny us…may all people of all countries come together in solidarity to demand change in the world…may we all be safe and protected as we seek to do good for all…SOLIDARITY!!!!!

  39. I propose we combine all movements under one umbrella movement that we call Occupy Earth.. This will give one voice to our many and diverse causes all linked n our universal call for equality.

    • I second your proposal! See my reply to John Thomas’s post of November 24.

    • i’m in!

  40. Need to get students at San Antonio College (Texas) involved. Any ideas? Any literature we could share, etc?

  41. We need to get back to valuing work and the people who
do it. Work produces, creates, and innovates. Money conveys
one’s work to another and visa versa through the purchase of
    products and services.

Unfortunately, of late, money has become a commodity unto itself.
Financial devices/instruments have been created to make more money from
the money one has. These financial devices/instruments produce, create nothing,
but more money. And when these devices fail, we are all made to
suffer, except, of course, for those who create the devices, for they
    are “too big to fail”.

Why have the devices been created? Because money has become more than just a conveyance; it is now power, it is now influence. The more money one has the more power and influence one has. This fact has not been lost on those in government: instead of protecting the common good, they are out getting more money, because money is power, money is influence. Thus, a corrupt cycle has been created: people in government are given money or the prospect of future lucrative employment by those who have a lot of money, and in return laws and regulations ensure that those who have a lot of money can continue to get more.
Money has become it own being.

How to stop this? There needs to be a concerted effort to value work and the people who do it. Value their creations, value their innovations, value their labor — in this way we will once again be valuing people.

Work and what it produces and the people who do it should once again be what’s prized.

  42. I have been trying to push for the American protests to take on a new strategy; currently they have 1/3 support, but their goals have 2/3 support. That means 1/3 of the country doesn’t know what’s going on, and the media won’t tell them. On the other hand, that means 100 million people would be allies of Occupy, and all it would take is to tell them the truth.

    Here’s my tactical plan.

  43. Program for the Week of Action in Madrid:

    Respect the rights of all:

    No human being is illegal

Program for the 10th of December

    h 11,30 -12,00

    Staging of a wedding

    Staging of an eviction

    h.12,00 – 14,00

Forum of Human Rights at Puerta del Sol, with working groups managed by community and barrios popular assemblies, commissions or other organisations. Each working group in the Forum will reflect on some of the 30 rights, developing workshops and activities.

art 28 international politics working group, SOL

art 31 the right that has yet to be written, international extension commission, SOL

Groups will analyse the situation of discrimination suffered by the migrant population

    4. Right to life, freedom and safety: art 3, 5, 6,9,10,11

    5. Right to free circulation: art 13 y 14

    6. Right to work: art 23

    7. Right to have a life-project: art 12,16, 18

    8. art 13, `plataforma plurinacional

    9. art 23 and 25, Social Commission, Sol

The work of the groups will be focussed on analysing the rights chosen, who violates them and how, where, who are those affected and which are the proposals to redress this.

Each groups will need to summarises on a placard (to the front the text of the article, to the back how it is violated, where, who is affected and who violates and, if they have emerged, alternative proposals)

h 17.00 Music show with various choirs

h 17,30 Assembly to share the work done Puerta del Sol. The working groups will communicate via spokes persons the conclusions reached by the group. The work will be visible on the placards.

    Program between the 10th and18th:

talks and actions in the ‘barrios’

    Program for the 18th

18th of December: Day of global action against racism and for the rights of migrants, refugees and displaced people

    h. 12:00 concentrate in Sol, where there will be a performance of CIEs (spanish detention centers)

Realisation of the performance of CIE: the people who will take part will be invited to take place around the horse in Sol, and they will take positions which symbolise the discriminatory attitude of police raids. The police locks people in a CIE. The people can wear masks of different colours. In the CIE we will show what will happen at the end: the CIE will be destroyed and the people will get out to take part to the march.

We will continue with a march to the Ministry of Interior, passing through Cibeles

Once opposite the Ministry, the proposal is to draw empty silhouettes, which will represent the people that cannot stay, cannot demonstrate, or who have disappeared because of the immigration laws, of the repression, etc. (with chalk, paper stuck to the ground, etc.)

This proposal is to be shared at a national and international level

  44. while i agree with the movement i believe we need to start orginizing legislation or laws to present to people or something to show exactly what we want. you can say we want equality and are rights but you must be much more elaborate you must etch out every detail for this to work.

    • Can’t agree more with you Josh. We need an exact model of political administration, in a form of an explicative manifesto as well as in constitutional/legislative ammendments!

  45. It may be small and insignificant, but I’m organizing a fundraiser for our local Food Bank this weekend. Last year, we raised over 6800 lbs of food – enough for 3000 meals. I’ve been so stressed out over all the planning details for this large event that I had forgotten what it really means. Your site reminded me why it matters. Blessings and love to all of you working to help others. Together, we make a difference.

    • Thanks so much for your kind words. The same goes to you and all your efforts, together we sure do make a difference!

  46. Something I’ve wanted to say for a long time but I don’t know that it’s good as a focus on this day, but a thought anyway.

A few of my friends had to declare bankruptcy which was an annoying and costly process but all the same, it helped them out. Of course, many limitations have been placed on bankruptcy in recent years because I imagine the “law” makers foresaw the coming crash, but the thing that really upset me was at the end of the process, my friends were required to take an online course and a test to instruct them about being responsible with their finances from now on. God forbid the credit sharks should lose out again.

My great idea was that we get all of the emails and home addresses of all the bankstahs who obviously are in great need of this course and the final test, send them the test and require that they pass it so that they’ll never need to be bailed out again. You know, swamp them with emails and physical letters. Obviously the effect is only to make a statement but it needs to be said big and out loud in many different ways that there has been gross greed on the part of those who had the greatest effect on our lives and our economic security.

  47. Go to small local branches of the multinational corporations and banks and toss toilet paper rolls over their property. ” Bankers are shitting on the people!”

  48. How about this idea for some REAL action, not just endless protest?

    • Well Sue that is the whole point of the site. As you can see we are asking for a brainstorming of ideas for concrete action (as opposed to shouting slogans on the street) on concrete subjects. Hopefully they will catch on and produce results.

  49. Occupy the Grand Jury to Protect protesters who are being arrested.

  50. As a form of protest against corporate control over the people through the food supply I recommend that people start purposefully growing non-GMO, heritage crops as the space within their home allows. Follow this action up with the harvest, collection, free exchange and storage of seeds, and crops with every person in their community. Every community should have a marketplace similar to a farmers market in which we can exchange food without the introduction of dollar bills. This would allow us to take back control of our food. Even if all we do is begin apartment, and backyard farming we are one step closer to taking back the control of our basic human rights.

  51. UK Police Label Occupy Movement A Terrorist Group As US Army Seeks More CI (Civilian Internment) Specialists

    Dear All,

This comes to us via . Many thanks to you, Lori.

The importance of this piece is obvious. At this time, the question of who is to be housed in those large government detention centers has been answered. It is us. In this regard, it is interesting to note that the UK has declared the “Occupy” movement to be a terrorist group.

Once again. Good luck to you all.

  52. Has anyone looked into Chemtrails? All you have to do is look up in the sky and you see them? Why are they being illegally sprayed on us? I just found out about this… i guess i never questioned what I saw in the sky….

Thank you to everyone protesting!!! Thank you so much for doing it!

  53. i shall be getting word out about the movement at the local library since its a public place and they cant arrest me for tresspassing

  54. Fight against capitalism!

  57. What about an international night of candle light vigils…to honor those who are suffering due to the suppression and oppression of the 1%, the corporate vultures, the greedy elite. We can try to “light up the world” so to speak…

  58. Why not occupy to organize law school students specifically around the efforts to bring the words of the human rights declaration into life. There is a necessary bridge between the words of the declaration and the demands of protest. Legally oriented and organized spokespeople can breathe and test our humanity in the halls and pages of our lives.

  59. Human Rights Day Dec.10 could be used as a day to affirm adequate housing as a Human Right. It’s asserted in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Article 25).

  60. “The illusion of Free Will” ? A “Blameless” world? Look, Im all for a more equitable distribution of wealth but :”we human beings are not to be blamed or credited for anything,” is complete nonsense. Yes, our actions are constrained by the forces around us, but I had the free will to write this, and that violent individual who just shot two students in Virgina had his free will. He shouldnt be blamed for shooting the individuals? I shouldn’t be credited with the excellent job I’m doing teaching my students? I might be a product of my environment, but I made the decisions I made without being forced. I could have dropped out and gotten high. I could have gone to law school. A doctor who spent 10 years of their life studying Medicine shouldn’t be credited with the financial incentive?
I think your imagining a world of intentions that doesn’t actually exist. Blame exists for very good reasons. So does credit. Society is unfair, but you will not bring justice by removing blame. And you invite far more injustice by removing credit. Karl Marx never answered the question of how you get mankind to do their jobs, cleaning restrooms, laying bricks without a) Credit in the form of financial incentives, b) Fear of loss of finances and resultant hardships. Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Kim Jong Ill, and every single leader placed in that situation solved it with the only way possible: by placing fear of Death camps and killing fields.
Thinking Liberals like us want equality of opportunity, with the emphasis on OPPORTUNITY. We dont like that a Man with the name Kayshawn on his resume has lowered opportunities than John. But we want Kayshawn Johnson and John Smith to be able to succeed financially with the same opportunity in whatever occupation they decide on. And if Kayshawn works his way from a housing project through Medical School, while John Walker Smith, with his upper middle class upbringing decides to murder his wife, or embezzle a million dollars, or run over a family while drunk driving his SUV, we want him to suffer all the penalties. And Kayshawn should enjoy the benefits of his efforts and his decision making. We are all masters of our own fates, in different ways. Once you get older and wiser, you’ll understand what Im talking about, Marxism sounded good too when I was 16.

  61. What happened to healing America first then help other countries, After reading about some of you that were taking a few thousand dollars that has been donated to help America, And going to Egypt to help negotiate for peace, I thought you were mad at the Government for sticking their noses in where they didn’t belong, And why are you worried about world occupation when you haven’t even got a good start here. It’s a good gesture to want to help other countries I commend you for that, Take your own money and go that would be a better gesture. Too the thousand’s that are still on course thank you, You have already made a difference, Keep up the good word and you will persevere. Dr Ron keep moving forward.

  62. 1)How about a MOCK TRAIL OF WALLST CRIMINALS? Videotape and post whole proceedings and the JAIL sentencing!

    2) More LASER & LIGHTSHOW flashmobs where we take over the side of a megacorps building at night like the VERIZON building during the Brooklyn Bridge march. These would get lots of publicity if done large!

    3) An app or webpage where you can click on a national map – any occupy site – and order them a PIZZA instantly and or get state and local reps phone numbers for INSTANT ACTION

    4) PR PHOTOS EVENTS & CALENDARS – Take group photos of our most powerful PR IMAGES…Like our OCCUPY WAR VETS in uniform….OCCUPY KIDS….

    5) LIVESTREAM a HUNGERSTRIKE!!! – powerful PR tool! WHO hungerstrikes is important….use best people possible.

    6) We should carry more AMERICAN FLAGS for front line actions since it looks SO unpatriotic when a police officer abuses the flag or person carrying it!

Nonviolent protest Jujitsu now!!! Use their strengths against them with our nonviolent LOVE!

  63. Call to Action: Use NaSI SARs to Charge Your Representative & Senators with Seditious Conspiracy

The corporate powers that be have been attempting to redirect the wrath of the Occupy Wall Street movement to their puppet politicians in Washington DC since day one. And by yet another coincidence – or more likely design – the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 (NDAA) now forces our attention in that direction. This Act was passed by both the U.S. House of Representatives (H.R.1540) and the U.S. Senate (S.1867), and now lacks only the signature of Bushbama to become law. If he signs it, the corporate fascist takeover of America initially exposed and delayed by USMC General Smedley Butler in the 1930s will be complete:

Section 1031 of the NDAA as currently worded authorizes the President to use Military Force to detain indefinitely based on suspicion alone and without trial American citizens on American soil, effectively making the United States a Police State similar to Nazi Germany. You can read the wording here:

This is in direct conflict with and an overt attempt to override the 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments to the Constitution:

“Amendment 4 – Search and Seizure. Ratified 12/15/1791.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Amendment 5 – Trial and Punishment, Compensation for Takings. Ratified 12/15/1791.

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Amendment 6 – Right to Speedy Trial, Confrontation of Witnesses. Ratified 12/15/1791.

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.”

93 of our 100 Senators and 322 of our 435 Representatives voted to make this Orwellian scenario the law of the land. You will find the names of these criminals listed here:

What follows is my layman’s legal justification for refering to these corporate puppets as “criminals”, and a call to action to all Americans to assure that their crimes do not go unpunished. I am not an attorney, and certainly not a constitutional lawyer. If you are – or if you know and can afford one – I invite you to take this ball and run with it:

Pursuant to Article 6 of the Constitution, every member of both houses of Congress is required to take the following oath of office: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

In voting to pass the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 and thereby override our Constitution and Bill of Rights, 93 Senators and 322 Representatives clearly violated their oath of office. But unsurprisingly, they face no legal penalty for their “breach of oath”:

In conspiring to pass a bill that would enable the use of military force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution the of 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments, however, these 415 servants of the Kleptocracy committed “Seditious Conspiracy”, a federal crime punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment:

“If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.”

I am asking all American citizens to check the following links to see if their Senators or Representatives are among the 415 that need to be arrested and charged with Seditious Conspiracy:

If they are, I recommend you report them using the most expeditious tool for assuring that all federal, state and local law enforcement agencies who need to get involved are properly informed, and that is the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting (SAR) Initiative, or “NaSI” for short. SAR links for all 50 states are available here:

This is no joke. This is no drill. This may be our last chance to peacefully restore the Republic. And even if you might not consider our Republic worth saving, I suggest you help imprison THEM before they imprison YOU.

  65. Focus on the media. Take back the public airwaves. Surround tv and radio stations everywhere.

In Egypt they surrounded the station in Cairo and wouldn’t allow anyone in or out until they stopped airing the ‘alternative reality’ they were presenting to the public.

Make the newsreaders uncomfortable, have intelligent signs that will evoke the guilt and shame they so richly deserve. Get one of them to break ranks and speak the truth on live TV:

    1. The President and Congress have all failed to uphold their oath of office.
    2. Either thru complicity or incompetence, have participated in the theft of billions (trillions?) of dollars from the American People.
    3. The banks engineered multiple scams to rob people in every conceivable manner- it appears the mob never died, they just took over Wall St.
    4. 9/11 was a scam, created to justify the perpetual war in the M.E. which has killed more than a million, destroying the lives of millions of people, our soldiers families included, and poisoned the entire region with tons of radioactive waste via our depleted uranium munitions.

These facts demand immediate action. Let’s say people don’t believe these accusations. Fine- but they are startling accusations, so let’s stop all regularly scheduled programming and have this debate, on live tv until the matter is settled.

Failure to uphold the oath of office is the highest crime in the land. The next logical step is for honest members of our police and military to begin making arrests.

  66. We here at Occupy San Diego are having a huge Day of Action ending with our Occupy San Diego Pajama OccuParty and Protest! Go to to view it!

  67. I’m totally pro peaceful movements for justice, real democracy, pollitical transparency. I’m amazed by all the change happening around the world, It makes me so glad to see how those verses I love are really coming to action:

Rise up! like lions after slumber
    In unvanquishable number
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in your sleep had fallen on you
Ye are many – and they are few

    _ Percy Bysshe Shelley

Nothing like a real determination to change to make things come true.

There are infinite subjects for debates we can all have around the globe, I propose movements agains technological dependence, tv dominion, I think we waste a lot of time entertaininig ourselves instead of really doing good stuff.

Valueing more nature, creativity and all the best in mankind.

A protest for art will be great too, there are many places where people don’t value art at all and artist mostly can’t sustain themselves with their creations.

I’ll think about more ideas and share with you.

    Let’s move on, freedom fighters!!

  68. Imagine•A•Nation

Watching the GOP debate was depressing. It was like watching Occupy Wall Street but through elected officials.

As each politician pointed their fingers and whined about Congress, the Government, or Obama dragging the nation into an early grave, what each failed to mention was how to provide economic growth as well as how Obama’s representation of our decisions has hindered this nation’s economy.

Because of the value placed on religious denominations, our thoughts are predisposed to a misinterpretation or even manipulation of already biased literature.

Because of the worth placed on political factions, our voices and actions are hindered by media that would much rather maintain the status quo than provide societal progress.

Redefine your vocabulary. Reinvent your definitions. Refine your language based on the information all around you. #societalprogress.

Imagine a nation of people that communicates progress rather than limits the potential others. Note. This does not lead to world peace but rather people being fully informed to make decisions through efficient and effective communication. America will be the land of the free once our minds are finally allowed to define information as we receive it. Not vice versa.

Why does a bible get more respect than a #fairytale? They are both manmade works of literature that instill faith, hope, and #progress.

I plan to generate national revenue by developing human capital to rapidly increase the value and worth of several neighborhoods in each city. Rather than segregate people by capitalizing on their differences, this campaign uses commercial media and language to bridge the communication barriers between religious denominations and political factions and encourage societal progress.

Replace blanket statements – they, you all, and God – with the source of your overgeneralized information. #basicresearch = #progress.

Each person sells information through communication. In doing so, the value of that information increases or decreases based on the benefit of that information to another. Commercialization is the process of using metaphors or media to communicate to another with information that they can process and benefit from.

[Information] thou art, and unto [information] thou shall return. If people can’t benefit from your information, why should they #giveafuck?

Each person’s perception is based on recycled information. Success occurs when one communicates the benefit of their information to another. Innovation occurs when a medium for processing information is refined to facilitate efficient and effective communication.

As employees represent a company’s reputation, we, the informed people, run this nation. We each have a brand to develop and are not properly allowed the time or the revenue to appreciate each other’s brands. Personal and societal appreciation drives revenue through localized spending and outside investment, proliferating personal progress, societal productivity, and national providence.
